Two-day Marine Chronometer, Liverpool, c. 1840, no. 727/16520, with 3 1/4-in. silvered dial, gold hands, roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and up/down dials, brass gimbaled bowl marked "Litherland Davis & Co. Liverpool 727," chain fusee movement with two-arm split bimetallic balance, helical hairspring, and detent escapement, in brass-bound, three-tier mahogany box, ht. 6 in. Estimate $800-1,200 currently keeping time, case has nice old finish, case lacking escutcheon and name boss plaque.
