I. P. Cutts Lacquered Brass Compound Microscope, Sheffield, England, 19th century, 7 1/2-in. long screw-mount main tube, triangular pillar engraved "I.P. Cutts Sheffield" on one side and "Opticians to the Majesty" on the other, rackwork stage, plano mirror, collapsible tripod feet, housed in a fitted mahogany box with eyepieces, mirrors, and a sample of slides, original paper description manual, and "McAllister & Co. Philadelphia" retailer's label on interior box bottom. Note: Sold at Christie's June 20, 1988.
