Chaim Gross (American, 1904-1991) Acrobats Carved signature and date "CHAIM/GROSS/... /1951" on the back of the plinth. Wood, height 19 1/2 in. (49.5 cm), on a wood plinth. Condition: Scattered cracks, dust and dirt to interstices. Estimate $800-1,200 The cracks are vertical and are primarily to the base, although there is a crack to the backside of the smaller figure. There is also a knot in the wood at the larger figure's right hip that is cracking.
