Brattleboro Light Infantry Knapsack, c. early 19th century, Spanish brown-painted linen bag, the obverse painted with a gold sunburst and "BLI," flap is secured on the inside by two thin leather straps and tinned-iron buckles, wide linen upholstery tape for shoulder straps and thin leather cross strap with tinned-iron buckle, ht. 13 3/4, wd. 16 1/4 in. Provenance: Formerly in the collection of the Bushnell Museum, Vernon, Vermont. Estimate $400-600 Spanish brown paint has some wear and cracking, but in overall good condition.
