Cantel Patent Federal Canteen, c. 1862, leather body with copper rivets, marked on the front "PATENT/L.C/OCT. 14 1862," with brass shoulder strap reinforcing pieces, pewter spout, tin-topped cork, and a leather shoulder strap (detached), ht. 9. wd. 6 1/2 in. Estimate $2,000-4,000 In overall very good condition, with a break on the strap near where it attaches to the canteen body, and some of the cork is missing.
