Martin Cheney Wood-front Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Windsor, Vermont, c. 1805, mahogany veneered case with carved wood finial and plinth over the painted iron roman numeral dial marked "M. Cheney, Windsor Vermont," carved wood side ornaments, wood panels in throat and lower door, eight-day time-only movement with recoil escapement powered by a lead weight and regulated by a pendulum, ht. 34 in. Estimate $4,000-6,000 Dial relined. Throat originally held by two screws now held by four.
