C. Wilder & Sons Blue-painted Stave-constructed Butter Churn, South Hingham, Massachusetts, 19th century, stamped on the underside, ht. 40 1/2, dia. 10 1/2 in. Estimate $200-250 plunger appears contemporary to the churn, with no evidence of being painted, but the base of the plunger is with splits and repairs, and the staves and rings exhibit looseness and some separation.
