William Lawson (British, fl. 1819-1864) Harvest Scene. Signed and dated "W Lawson/18..." c.l., titled and ".../by WLawson" on the reverse, titled on a handwritten label affixed to the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 13 7/8 x 18 in., framed. Condition: Punctures, retouch, craquelure, varnish discoloration, surface grime. Estimate $800-1,200 About five small punctures clustered in the clothing of the figures and in the foreground picnic basket. The last two digits of the date are very hard to make out.
