American School, 20th Century Spring in Byfield. Unsigned, titled and ascribed to John J. Enneking in an inscription on the back of the frame (see below). Oil on academy board, 9 7/8 x 14 in., framed. Condition: Minor surface grime. N.B. The inscription on the frame reads: "Spring in Byfield/Painted by John J. Enneking of Hyde Park." Also inscribed "Mrs. Thornbberg" on the back of the frame, and "Framed/Copley Galleries" on the reverse. Estimate $300-500 Inscribed "Walter Parks/16 La Grange St./Boston" on the reverse.
