Jasper-mounted Gilt-metal, Mantle Clock, France, 18th century and later, the case with flaming urn finial above berried laurel branches, the base with eagle supports with tassels atop their heads, set with dark blue ground medallions with applied white relief, and all mounted atop a lozenge-shape marble stand, clock movement stamped 3985, overall ht. 16 3/8 in.; with a later Wedgwood light blue jasper-mounted pendulum. Estimate $700-900 The movement a 19th century replacement; some chipping to the edges of the jasper plaques; gilding with wear, especially to the surface of the base.
