Continental, 20th century. A mosaic panel after the third century Roman original floor mosaic housed at the Musée Archéologique de Sousse in Tunisia, the mosaic depicting the mythological Roman god of the Sea, Neptune (or Poseidon in Greek mythology), at center in the nude mounted to a chariot drawn by two sea horses over the waves, the figure with a trident in one hand and holding reigns in other hand. Label to verso stating origin of mosaic and that it is a registered museum copy. Approximately 18.75" x 21.875".
