Édouard Vuillard (French, 1868-1940) Bust of a Lady with her Chin Resting on her Hand Stamped "E. V" l.r., a label from JPL Fine Arts, London, affixed to the frame backing. Pencil on paper, 4 x 6 1/4 in. (10.2 x 15.7 cm), framed. Condition: Minor toning and rippling, subtle handing creases, perforated left edge. Provenance: The estate of Elaine Sargent, New York. N.B. This drawing was examined by the comité VUILLARD on May 9, 2017 using high resolution photographs, and the comité will include it in the supplement to the Vuillard catalogue raisonné with the notation "Opinion issued on photographs."
