Jan Frederik Pieter Portielje (Dutch, 1829-1908) Woman with a Fan Signed "Portielje" l. l., inscribed and dated "The undersigned declares that/this picture has been painted/by himself to the order of/A. D'Huyvetter of Antwerp/Portielje/februar [ sic ] 1881" on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 41 x 31 5/8 in. (104.0 x 80.5 cm), framed. Condition: Small paint loss l.c., minor scattered retouch, craquelure, minor canvas deformation, surface grime. Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.
