First edition, two octavo volumes, illustrated with nineteen plates, bound in uniform contemporary green cloth, stamped in blind with gold titles on the spines, 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 in. (2) Mohan Lal Zutshi [also called Mohan Lal Kashmiri] was a traveller, diplomat, and author. He played a central role in the First Anglo-Afghan War of 1838-1842, and his biography of Dost Mohammad Khan is a primary source on that War.
