Miller, Arthur. The Crucible. New York: Kermit Bloomgarden, n.d. (1953). Original Rehearsal Script from the first production of the play, staged by Kermit Bloomgarden in 1953, bearing some textual discrepancies with the published text. Likely an intermediate script, with the excised scene of Abigail and Proctor in the wood already deleted. 4to. 100 mimeographed pages, bound with brass bolts. Lacking original leather cover; title page beginning to detach; some markings to fore edge and a few stains, but still very good. Title page Signed by Arthur Miller and Inscribed by Beatrice Straight, one of the original cast members. Together with a playbill from the opening night of the show.
