Diego Rivera (Mexico, 1886-1957) unframed pastel and charcoal drawing on paper depicting a pair of workers and their supervisor at a construction site. Probably a study for "The Making of a Fresco Showing the Building of a City", painted from April - June 1931 at the San Francisco Art Institute. Measuring 20" in height with width of 16" and signed to the lower left "Diego Rivera", it is complete with bill of sale from 1942 signed by Diego Rivera from where it was sold to Jack Beny, popular Hollywood Star of the time. This piece does not come with a certificate of authenticity, but is representative of the artist's style and signature. Provenance: from the estate of a prominent European & Texas collector, known to not only to have collected quite an amazing assortment of notable art, but to have befriended a vast majority of the artists of whose work was acquired. It is our recommendation that all pieces must be examined in person by perspective clients or a dealer they have asked to give them a condition report.
