The book by Broderson, based on a sixteenth century Jewish legend taking place in Prague, is profusely illustrated by Lissitzkiy, as a result of a fruitful cooperation between the most prominent members of the Group for Jewish National Aesthetics, that Broderson established in Moscow after the Revolution in 1917.
