He was a close friend of Nicoali Fechin, and Fechin left many of his artworks with Radimov before leaving for America in 1923. As the Tretyakov expertise notes, Fechin had a particular fondness for painting small landscape etudes such as the present lot, to improve his artistic skills and achieve happiness.
