18th century having a floral carved crest rail above a tapestry upholstered back, arms and stuffover seat depicting game birds in a landscape, raised on six square tapering legs. Height 34 x width 60 x depth 25 1/2 inches. Provenance: Steve Tipton Antiquarian, Louisville, Kentucky Tapestry upholstery in good condition with light to moderate yellowing and fading. Scattered age splits to the frame throughout, as well as some partial breaks, consistent with age. Velvet back intact with minor areas of discoloration and dents. Scattered, minor areas of flaking and lifting to the painted frame consistent with age. Wobbles slightly. A few instances of loss to the studded decoration.
