Published in Picturesque America; or, The Land We Live In. edited by William Cullen Bryant, 1872. This work depicts the Eads Bridge, spanning the Mississippi River and providing passage between Missouri and Illinois. The Eads Bridge was not fully constructed until 1874 but this work shows the bridge as already completed (John Reps, Saint Louis Illustrated). Sight: 5 5/8 x 9 inches.
