(Circa 1300s) Descent from the Cross oil and gold leaf on gesso ground 24 3/4 x 27 inches. Property from the Estate of Marlene Nasreddine, Miami, Florida Reduced from a larger size. Craquelure, flaking and areas of loss to the paint layer consistent with age. Scattered age splits throughout consistent with age. Areas of loss throughout exposing the gesso or underlying wood. Slight convex warping to the top of the panel at the center. Worming to the wood, primarily visible on the back. Examination under UV reveals scattered, minor areas of fluorescence throughout.
