Commonwealth of Massachusetts 19th Century Ballot Box, manufactured by the New Haven Car Register, New Haven, Connecticut, No. 1292, oak case with hinged lid opening to reveal the ballot slide, and viewing windows, geared mechanism with four dials with printed numerals, and bell, ballot crank on side, plaque attached to top reading as above, a printed paper card with the secretary, treasurer, auditor, and inspector's signatures, dated 1899, accompanies the box, ht. 35, dp. 23, wd. 13 in.
