Important Benjamin Chandlee, Chester County, Pennsylvania Queen Anne walnut tall case clock, ca. 1745 , the sarcophagus bonnet with blind fretwork, carved with birds and foliate scrolls enclosing an eight-day works, with a brass face, inscribed Ben. Chandlee Nottingham , over a case with an arched door, 101″ h. Provenance: Private Maryland collection. The present clock remains in an excellent state of preservation with its complete sarcophagus top. The central finial and base molding have been replaced.
