Althof Bergman painted tin and cast iron two-horse gig with a painted composition figure with tin hands and boots, a scarce toy and even more so with the black figure dressed in a very early replaced jacket and two-color cap, retaining the original pants, although seriously frayed; body of gig retains original but has a faded paint surface, strong clockwork mechanism propels toy and imparts galloping motion to horses, both retaining strong original paint, 17” l.
