Circa 1890. The lids marked on the underside with a red Chateau de Tuilerises and a blue Sevres Factory seal, also S.37 in an oval, one also incised 311. The tapered bodies fitted with double loop and leaf clasp gilt bronze handles, painted with lovers in landscapes, signed F. Hoffman, the reverse with rural also with painted landscapes, on a circular foot set upon a square gilt bronze base, gilt highlights throughout. Height 40”, Width across handles 17”. (Cond: one lid restored professionally, done extremely well, with very minor variation to surface. otherwise both appear in good condition) (20000/25000)
