edward f. caldwell & co., new york, early 20th century of ovoid form, having vertical openwork floral bands spaced with eight hanging lights and enclosing two opposing lights, wired for electricity. Height 44 x diameter 26 1/2 inches. In overall good, stable condition. Appears complete with the exception of the central globe and a hanging element at the lower center, see the Caldwell Archive: (http://library.si.edu/digital-library/collection/caldwell/browse/LB045?page=9) for a period image of the complete chandelier. The whole with fairly even dirty patina but having some areas of discoloration. Some of the vertical elements seem to be slightly out of round, one with repair (2-3 breaks in bronze...see screws in photographs). Wiring and sockets present. Unsure of condition of wiring, some sockets missing insulating sleeves. Additional images available upon request.
