late 19th century in the Eastlake style, the spindled and three-quarter galleried top having incised floral decoration above two barreled doors, one bearing a plaque marked Manufactured by/ Wooton Desk Manf. Co./ Indianapolis, Ind./ W.S. Wooton's Patent/ Oct. 6, 1874 and the other with a letter slot, opening to a heavily fitted interior with a fall front writing surface, raised on carved bracket feet ending in casters, together with an associated chair. Height of desk 70 1/2 x width 42 1/2 x depth 31 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of Missy Lavender, Chicago, Illinois Height of associated chair 39 1/4 inches. Several spindles with areas of loss.
