Sold for:
$188

18th century depicting a gentleman holding a basket of fruit, raised on a rocaille base. Height 9 1/4 inches. Property from the Collection of Caroline Carter, Wilmette, Illinois In decent condition consistent with age. Scattered chips to the encrusted flowers and leaves throughout. Repaired break to figure's thumb on proper-right hand. Minor instances of discoloration and rubbing to glaze consistent with age. Examination under UV light causes chips at the top of the bocage to fluoresce, suggesting retouch.
