painted to depict a young woman within a gilt decorated floral border, the central reserve signed Wagner, titled Aspiration and with a beehive mark in underglaze blue to the reverse. Diameter 9 3/4 inches. In good, stable and complete condition without chips or cracks. Light surface wear to the painted and gilt decoration. Minor shelf wear to the foot rim. Examination under UV light causes three minute patches to fluoresce, suggesting retouch.
