19th century having an upholstered back, arms and seat within a winged sphinx carved frame, raised on square tapering legs ending in paw feet. Height 35 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of The Steins, Glencoe, Illinois In good, stable, usable condition overall. Fading and discoloration to the proper-right side, likely due to sun exposure. Upholstery intact and in good condition. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use, with slightly heavier wear to the legs and feet. Scattered tight age splits throughout; split to the proper-left back rail behind the arm. Surface wear and tight splits to the sphinxes, particularly visible on the wings.
