probably russian, late 18th/early 19th century having a circular galleried Brocatelle d'Espagne marble top over a single drawer, raised on square legs joined by a triangular stretcher and ending in twisting bronze feet. Height 30 x diameter 29 1/2 inches. Property from the Collection of The Steins, Glencoe, Illinois Provenance: Bernard Steinitz, Paris In overall good, attractive condition. Old scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Drawer opens and closes but sticks occasionally. Some light rubbing to gilt decoration consistent with age and use. Gallery bent slightly out of round at points, seam visible. Scattered areas of lifting to gilt mounted elements, with a 1/2 inch loss to gilt band on stretcher. Some small losses and repairs to wood veneer above feet.
