Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg (German, 1747-) and designed by Professor Gerdy Troost (1904 - 2003), circa 1940s. A matched pair of porcelain amphora form vases in cream and blue colored glaze with gilt enameling, the handles mounted below the shoulders and both sides hand decorated with classical reclining figures in gold and fuschia, terminating on a socle foot. Both marked to the underside with Nymphberg hallmark in underglaze green (1910-1975), the impressed shield mark and numbered 827 with the Professor Troost inscription. Approximate height 13". width 8.25".
