French, late 18th/early 19th century. A pair of figural pewter salt boxes, one a peasant man wearing a cap with a feather and a vest with an outstretched hand (missing implement), the other a peasant woman, wearing a bonnet and a shawl and holding a small box, each mounted on a semicircular cellar with a rolled rim, decorated with a green man. With original receipts. Each stamped with two flower marks centered with a C. Approximate height (of woman) 13.825", width 7", depth 3.1".
