A matched pair of French Empire style giltwood arm chairs (or fauteuils) with padded back and seat, both upholstered in flax linen fabric, with cascading gilt metal leaf tip appliques to back and arms, front legs with figural rendering of Neoclassical goddess figure and gilt metal florette appliques, two front legs with applied gilt metal lion's paw feet, apparently unmarked. Overall approximate height 39"; width 23.75"; depth 28"; seat to floor 16".
