Designed by Ettore Sottsass (Italian, 1817-2007) for Up&Up (Italian, founded in 1969), circa 1983. A Memphis style "Gaya" marble fruitbowl sculpture having a copper tubular bent handle mounted to the disc-shaped carrara marble top centered with sunken conical shaped pinkish marble and united to the thick circular base by four cylindrical supports. Top of sculpture with tag "Up&Up MADE IN ITALY MASSA CARRARA". Approximate height 14", diameter of top 15.25".
