A Gorham (Rhode Island, 1831- ) ladies Art Deco era compact with engraved design on lid of lines radiating out from a trio of step cut natural rubies mounted vertically within a rectangular form flanked by quarter moon shapes. Hinged lid opens to reveal a mirror on top and a hinged compartment on bottom with push button closure, which when opened is a space for powder. Compact is presented in a navy blue leather case with shaped front. Marked on interior rim of lid "Gorham Sterling, 4k". Compact approximately 2 1/2" tall x 2 3/8" wide, and 82.7g.
