Barand, F. (fl. circa 1880) Scene of an Indian Camp on Medicine Bluff Creek, near Fort Sill, Oklahoma, c. 1873, Oil on Canvas. The painting is based on a 1873 photograph by Will Soule taken at Fort Sill. The foreground depicts a gathering of white men and native American Indians along the shore of Medicine Bluff Creek, with tepees and a lodge in the near distance. Signed in lower right, original gilt American exhibition frame, unrestored, with some chipping and scratches, 22 x 28 in. Provenance: The Estate of David Spinney.
