Account Book, General Store, Anapolis County, Nova Scotia, Canada, 1841-1846. Folio format register, laid paper watermarked W. Warren, 1839, ruled throughout, hundreds of pages, all filled, recording purchases of eggs, fruit, cheese, socks, brandy, tobacco, potatoes, sugar, salt, tallow, and other general store items, with names, dates, and amounts; bound in contemporary half leather, some damage to binding, staining to contents. Internal evidence that this book belonged to Valentine Troop (1822-1881), of Anapolis County, Nova Scotia. Likewise, the people listed in the register all seem to be from the same county.
