LOT NOTES Alexei Tyranov studied at the Imperial Academy of Art in St. Petersburg where he studied with Alexey Venetsianov and Karl Bryullov. In 1836 he was accepted to be an academic at the Academy, before moving to Rome from 1839-1942.
