Two En Grisaille Wallpaper Panels "Psyche Born By Zephyrs," after the original by Merry Joseph Blondel, each inscribed at base "Psyché enlevée par les zéphirs," mounted in Plexiglas, unframed, ht. 74, wd. 44 1/4 in. Provenance: Purportedly from the Crane estate, Dalton, Massachusetts. N.B. These unhung panels are after those by Joseph Dufour first printed c. 1820 which were produced using woodblocks. There is a reprint dated 1923 in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum collection in New York.
