Painting Depicting a Flying Duck, Japan, Toshio Aoki (1853-1912), with grasses, inscribed "Dai Nihon Aoki Toshio ga" and signed "T. Aoki," watercolor and gouache on paper, framed and glazed, the wood frame inscribed in Chinese characters, "WM Alberton & Co." sticker on the back, painting 22 x 13 3/4 in. Note: Toshio Aoki is a Japanese nihonga artist who immigrated to San Francisco in the 1880s. His works are held by museums including the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
