Itzhak Sankowsky (Romanian/ American, b. 1908). "Head" - 1981, mixed media woodblock print on paper and collaged wood, signed and dated lower left. A modernist figural collage with a carved and inked woodblock to right set beside a print off of that block at left, the carving and print being of a single woman with black hair, large eyes, strong and straight nose, and small pointed chin, the print and woodblock situated so that the figures are peering into each other's eyes with the print highlighted in yellow and the block remaining black on white. Overall approximately 31.875" x 21".
