17th century the rectangular top over a heavily carved case enclosing two short drawers interspersed with narrow secret drawers with loose ring lion mask faces, along with two cupboard doors flanked by figural columnar supports, above two low drawers, raised on recumbent lion and lion mask feet. Height 55 3/4 x width 86 1/2 x depth 27 1/4 inches. Property from the Estate of Pieter Christiaan Jongeneel, Clarens/Montreux, Switzerland Sturdy, attractive, complete condition overall. Drawer bottoms are not original but are old replacements; drawers include newer removable liners. Newer drawer rails inside the case. There are joint separations and wear from friction at the edges of the cabinet doors. One cabinet door is presently detached but can be re-attached; all hardware is present. The interior is later modified with some areas having vinyl veneer. Discolorations on the proper left side of the case; holes drilled insides near the top (unsure for what purpose); surface repairs to the top and the back corner of the top. The front feet with later supports. Worming, age splits, discolorations, heat and water marks, small wood losses and scratches throughout consistent with age. Additional photos available upon request.
