A large burl wood Tunbridge Ware box or lap desk, rectangular in form, marquetry inlaid with two elaborate multicolored bands to either end, a beveled and banded edge, and a central diamond with a brass mounted center, with a locking key escutcheon with a similar diamond border. Apparently unmarked. Approximate height 7.25", width 19.25", depth 10.25".
