the first a three-case example of rectangular form, painted to one side in gold hiramaki-e depicting a rooster perched on a fence, the reverse flowering chrysanthemum, all against a nashiji ground; the second a two-case example of horizontal rectangular form with raised decoration and mother-of-pearl inlays depicting a vase with fruits and flower on one side, flowering branches to the reverse. Height of larger 2 1/4. Property of a Private Midwest Collector Each in overall good condition with no major cracks or restoration. The vertical example with one small chip to the second tier, the horizontal example with one small dent to the second tier and minor wears.
