jade possibly yuan/ming dynasty the pale celadon oval jade plaque carved in openwork depicting "Spring Water" motif showing a goose in flight amongst entwined lotus plants, set in an octagonal tixi box, the cover decorated throughout with black layers of repeating scrolls. Height of box 6 1/2 x width 8 1/2 inches. The jade inset in overall good and complete condition with no visible chips, cracks or restoration, dirt residue and dust to the recesses. The box in decent condition with a few age cracks, a few areas of losses of lacquer to the rim of the cover and two chips to the foot ring.
