A set of upper torso mobile infantry body armor and M1 assault helmet from Starship Troopers (TriStar, 1997). An incomplete uniform, it exhibits some wear and distress. It was likely used for background and has “B” printed on the underside of the helmet to differentiate from the A and hero pieces worn and used by principals in the film. The helmet lacks ear vents, chin strap, and microphone while the armor lacks any fleet wings, pins, or rank epaulettes. As a point of trivia, some of the mobile infantry armor from Starship Troopers was repainted and reused in other productions, including Joss Whedon’s short-lived television series Firefly and Tim Burton’s filmic remake of Planet of the Apes.
