French, 19th Century. 19th century French Napoleon III style bronze mounted burl walnut and kingwood inlaid Cave De Liquor Tantalus Decanter Stand & Box. The serpentine shaped cabinet is mounted to each side with stylized handles. The hinged top opening to a pop- up interior housing a removable tray in gilt bronze fitted with 4 crystal decanters and 14 crystal aperitif stemware (with one extra). The crystal in the manner of Baccarat, apparently unmarked. The locked stamped 'M.S.B'. and impressed Brevete SCDG. Tantalus height 10.5", width 12.5", depth 9.3". Decanter height 8.25", aperitif height 2.75". Provenance: From the Estate of Dr. T. Elder Pearce in Ellijay, Georgia.
