After Daniel Maclise (Irish, 1806-1870), "Welligton & Blucher Meeting After the Battle of Waterloo", hand colored engraving by Lumb Stocks (English, 1812-1892), published in London in 1875. Engraving depicts a scene from the Battle of Waterloo on June 18, 1815 during the Napoleonic wars in which the Duke of Wellington and General Blucher meet just after the battle ends, with fallen and standing soldiers surrounding. Inscribed below image lower center "Wellington and Blucher meeting after the Battle of Waterloo", lower left "painted by Daniel Maclise R.A.", lower right "Engraved by Lumb Stocks", and lower right of center "Art Union of London 1875". Framed 25.5" x 57.5", unframed sight size 14" x 46".
