John Collard Vickery (English, first half 20th century), circa 1923. A George V sterling silver mounted tortoiseshell desk blotter of typical form with curved wood blotter to underside below flat tortoiseshell top framed in separable sterling frame with acanthine scrolls and flowers, with round flaring handle in turned wood with tortoiseshell veneer top bearing further sterling ornamentation. Marked to side of silver with maker's mark "J.C.V" within rectangular cartouche beside h date mark indicating production in 1923, lion passant standard mark, and city mark for London.
